'The BSTD Rule Book contains not only the rules, but also information on what is required to compete with the BSTD. Within the rule book there is also the contact numbers and lots of your questions will be answered. Please download the Rule Book which can be found on the Forms and Shows Page.

Very small pony (single or multiple not over 10.2hh). Single Pony (10.3hh - 14.2hh). Small pony pairs (10.3hh up to and including 12hh). Large pony pairs (over 12hh and up to and including 14.2hh). Some shows may also have: Junior & Horse class.

A Grand League will run throughout the season where competitors may amass points towards end of season awards where there will be winners of each section over the season. Competitors may stay at every show as long as adequate penning/stabling is offered to their ponies. Competitors may if they live close by to a show arrive on the day so long as they arrive before 9am due to H&S movement at the show (see show's own rules for county shows). All turnouts must compete with modern, well maintained and suitable for purpose 4wheeled vehicles. Scurry carts or driving trials vehicles are allowed. Ponies must be 4yrs old or over to compete.
